九二一地震後，一羣充滿熱情的國姓農友，將檳榔山逐漸轉換爲咖啡園，付出汗水與努力，讓一棵棵咖啡樹生長茁壯、結實累累，多年來堅持手工摘採與烘焙經驗的累積，已讓國姓咖啡香漸受消費者青睞，並屢獲咖啡比賽的獎賞。 國姓鄉公所表示，國姓種植咖啡超過10年，面積已有150公頃，爲全臺咖啡產量最大的鄉鎮，近年農民收益提高後，今年更擴大種植數量約8700棵，成長比例14%，產業日見蓬勃興盛。 爲讓國姓咖啡產業升級加值，南投縣政府、鄉公所與咖啡農三方達成推行產地證明標章的共識，歷經農民溝通協調、產地證明標章使用規範的建置與申請等作業，終於在6月1日獲得審查通過，成爲全臺第一個推動產地證明標章制度的臺灣咖啡產區。 <br />

“國姓咖啡”產地標章圖樣，以綠色山形代表國姓好山好水，褐色橋墩代表鄉內三級古蹟糯米橋，右上咖啡豆圖形則是來自國姓高海拔山區所產出的優質咖啡。 鄉公所上午邀集咖啡農舉辦說明會，鄉長林福峯表示，未來國姓咖啡農必須通過嚴格的檢測標準、農藥殘留檢驗、感官評鑑等要求，才能獲公所核發標章張貼，雖然過程辛苦，但有了認證標章後，勢必更受消費者肯定，價格會再看俏。 <br />
<br />
說明會上，咖啡農對於推行產地證明標章制度多樂見其成，但因國姓咖啡有約一半種在承租的林班地上，依規不能納入產地認證範圍，有咖啡農因而建議放寬認證的地目，與會的農糧署代表應允邀請相關單位研議，尋求突破。</span><br />
