我們有同事可以無後顧之憂地一天喝下6杯咖啡，還有朋友在餐後來了一份卡布奇諾，之後在一小時內可以象嬰兒般地入眠。</p>

的確，咖啡是安全的。按照FDA的統計，當今美國人平均每天攝入300毫克的咖啡因，梅奧診所則稱每天攝入400毫克是安全的，相當於4杯咖啡。咖啡是最最廣泛流行的咖啡因攝入方式，還會有一些健康幫助。研究顯示適量的飲用咖啡可以預防肝病、提供大量抗氧化劑，甚至保護大腦免受帕金森病。</p>
<p>
過去一些年有關咖啡因的健康建議已經標準化了，但是個人對咖啡因的興奮反應性卻不能用相同的方式來概括。我們中的絕大部分人經常通過以咖啡、茶葉、蘇打甚至巧克力的形式攝入咖啡因，但人體處理咖啡因的化學過程會基於幾個關鍵因素而變化，其中一些你從來沒有聽說過。</p>

有7個原因讓你可能對咖啡因更敏感</p>

從沒有喝過這麼多</p>
<p>
聽上去好象違反直覺，但是不經常攝入咖啡因的人，往往比那些已經對咖啡因耐受的人感受到更強烈的負面反應。對咖啡因的耐受方式建立在很多回顧研究上，但研究表明,持續地攝入咖啡因會導致大腦內情緒增強激素--去甲腎上腺素的生成下減少，讓身體去追求那個既充實又空虛的物質—咖啡因。</p>
<p>
基因的關係</p>
<p>
很麼多的人攝入咖啡因後會感覺“振奮”，這並不是由咖啡因直接造成的，咖啡因與大腦中的腎上腺素受體相結合，當它積累到一定的數量，應會給正在休息的身體發出信號，並允許多巴胺等天然興奮劑的功能不受限制。大腦對咖啡因敏感性的個人差異很大，與咖啡因與腎上腺素受體結合的數量有關。那些能有效地結合更多腎上腺素受體的人往往再現爲更爲敏感。(注：咖啡因與腎上腺素有相似的外形和化學結構，也能與腎上腺素受體相結合發生反應)</p>

罪魁禍首在藥箱</p>
<p>
梅奧診所稱某些抗生素、哮喘緩解藥和紫錐菊(用於預防感冒)可以增加咖啡因的副作用。同時抗生素和紫錐菊可以干擾咖啡因的代謝，使其在循環中積累到更高的濃度，清除需要更長的時間。哮喘緩解藥—茶鹼本身就有咖啡因樣副作用，聯合使用會感覺更不舒服。</p>
<p>
患焦慮症時</p>
<p>
如果在日常生活中正遭受着焦慮症的困擾，大量的咖啡因可能加重症狀。約翰霍普金斯大學醫學院的Roland Griffiths博士稱“咖啡因是世界上最廣泛使用的可以改變情緒的藥物”。在精神病學範疇內，咖啡因可以引發焦慮和恐慌症(驚恐性障礙)，加重恐慌症患者恐慌發作，並且對容易恐慌發作的人造成失眠。</p>

代謝慢</p>
<p>
肝臟內有一種酶可以協助人體代謝咖啡因，決定了每個人清除咖啡因的能力，代謝能力的個人差異很大。那些產代謝酶較少的人，需要花更多的時間清除體內的咖啡因，咖啡因作用時間更持久，而且副反應更多更持久。相反的，那些有很多咖啡因代謝酶的人往往需要通過更多更頻繁地攝入咖啡因來保持其預期作用。</p>
<p>
Y染色體</p>
<p>
很不幸，人體處理咖啡因的能力也有性別差異，女性天生的代謝比男性快些。巴塞羅那大學的一項研究實驗中，一組大學生標準化地攝入咖啡因10分鐘後，當其在男女組中同時起效時，發現咖啡因對男性的影響更強烈一些。</p>
<p>
使用口服避孕藥時</p>
<p>
與“女人咖啡因天生代謝快”的觀念相反的是：當女性正在使用口服避孕藥的時候，可能只有從前1/3的代謝率，讓女性更敏感，更可能導致副作用。通常的，在代謝週期末，咖啡因與體內一定數量的重要礦物質如鈣、鋅和鉀結合，一起排出。有一項研究表明：正在使用口服避孕藥的女性會流失更多的礦物質，因爲避孕激素抑制了咖啡因代謝的活性成份。所以當更多的營養物質流失同時，咖啡因和它的副作用將在人體中更持久地存在。</p>
