他對星巴克的評語是：「他們厲害在於把一個故事植入消費者心中，但你細看星巴克的核心元素，他們做的事很可怕，他們賣的不是咖啡，而是加了咖啡味的糖水。」</p>
<p>
除了賣咖啡更要賣故事</p>
<p>
中原咖啡擁有越南最大的咖啡連鎖店，鄧黎原羽已經瞄準西方咖啡豆市場。</p>
<p>
他說：「美國消費者需要的不是另一個產品，而是另一個故事。」他表示，中原咖啡希望改善咖農的生計，這是當今大型連鎖店沒做到的事：「他們高唱永續發展，但說穿了，他們關心的是投資報酬。他們不種咖啡，不是嗎?種咖啡的是我們。」</p>
<p>
中原咖啡表示，該公司以保證價格向小農收購咖啡，那些小農都經過咖啡豆永續農法認證。 鄧黎原羽在瑞士宣揚的，就是「負責的創意，和諧和永續」。</p>
<p>
越南是羅布斯塔咖啡豆(比較便宜，主要做即溶咖啡)最大出口國，咖啡出口總量則是世界第二，僅次於巴西。 巴西也是阿拉比卡咖啡豆(品第較高的咖啡豆)最大出口國。</p>
<p>
但是，和許多生產軟性商品(咖啡、可可、蔗糖)的國家一樣，越南賺的錢只有其咖啡豆產品經過加工、包裝、行銷後收入的零頭。</p>
<p>
鄧黎原羽說：「越南目前出口90%的生豆。這些豆子沒有品牌，這情況必須改變。」他估計，今後15年內，如果提高咖啡豆生產力，而且在咖啡豆的烘焙和包裝上提高附加價值，越南應該可以從咖啡獲利二百億美元(臺幣5800億美元)。</p>
<p>
中原咖啡希望營收在2015年前增加三倍，從2011年的2億5000萬美元變成10億美元。 鄧黎原羽有志挑戰雀巢和星巴克等全球品牌。 他的G7已是越南境內第一即溶品牌，壓倒雀巢和本地對手Vinacafe。</p>
<p>
中原咖啡目前出口60個國家，明年要在美國推出全新咖啡豆促銷計畫，將70%供應國內、30%出口的比率倒過來。</p>
<p>
鄧黎原羽也屬意亞洲市場的潛力，表示工廠用盡產能，還是不夠供應中國大陸。 根據雀巢最新統計，香港每人每年喝168杯咖啡，臺灣是99杯，中國大陸只有三杯，潛力無限。</p>
