陳振佳在進行《中國咖啡種植分佈與優勢區域佈局》發佈時稱，中國咖啡產區目前主要分佈在雲南、海南、四川、臺灣等地區。雲南西南部、海南北部、臺灣台南地區的熱帶、亞熱帶山區擁有較好的生態環境資源，與咖啡原產地非洲埃塞俄比亞的地理環境和氣候條件十分相似，所產咖啡品質較好，是世界咖啡種植的“黃金地帶”，目前已形成雲南、四川小粒種咖啡優勢產區和海南中粒種咖啡優勢產區，其中，雲南種植面積約佔全國總面積的98.2%，海南佔0.5%，四川佔0.9%，臺灣佔0.4%，種植區域相對集中，品種佈局合理，品種類型與氣候類型相匹配。</div>

主產區雲南的咖啡生長生態環境較好，大部分地區海拔1000米以上，多以山地、坡地栽培爲主，土壤肥沃，日照充足，雨量充沛，特別是晝夜溫差大，利於內含物積累，所產咖啡豆顆粒均勻飽滿、含油多、味醇厚、香氣高，具“濃而不苦，香而不烈，略帶果味”的獨特風味。國際咖啡組織品嚐專家考察雲南咖啡種植及初加工基地後，將雲南咖啡評價爲哥倫比亞溼法加工的小粒種咖啡一類，爲世界上最高品質的咖啡。</div>

陳振佳說，長期以來，中國咖啡市場被國外品牌佔據，雀巢和麥斯威爾等國際品牌佔據了中國速溶咖啡的大半江山，星巴克與其聞名的現磨咖啡也遍及中國各大中城市。近年來，中國咖啡企業發展迅猛，“後谷咖啡”、“雲啡咖啡”、“北歸咖啡”、“雲潞咖啡”、“朱苦拉咖啡”、“力神咖啡”、“福山咖啡”、“半坡咖啡”、“古坑咖啡”等本土品牌如雨後春筍般湧現，咖啡龍頭企業通過專利、商標戰略逐步提升產業競爭力，有力促進了中國咖啡產業迅速發展。“咖啡企業在咖啡工業精深加工方面已取得巨大突破。”陳振佳以後谷咖啡公司爲例說，目前，後谷咖啡速溶粉生產能力爲13000噸，另有20000噸在建，很快將投產；後谷咖啡是咖啡科技創新的受益者，其自主研發設備擁有上百項自主知識產權，併入圍2016年中國智能製造試點示範項目企業；還有很多咖啡企業，也正在加大科技創新投入，咖啡產業正在分享咖啡科技進步。</div>

中國咖啡工程研究中心陳振佳博士會上發佈的《中國咖啡產業發展報告》顯示：2015/2016生產季，包括臺灣在內的中國咖啡種植面積爲12.02萬公頃，產量達14.11萬噸。2015年，中國出口咖啡9.2萬噸，其中，咖啡生豆佔66.93%，焙炒咖啡佔 5.19%，除因炒豆佔0.01%，濃縮精汁佔1.23%，咖啡成品佔26.63%。目前，中國人均年消費咖啡5杯，全年消費13萬噸左右，消費金額1500億元（人民幣，下同）；雖然遠低於日本、韓國年人均約300杯、全年消費80萬噸的水平，也低於全球平均240杯的消費水平；但中國咖啡消費量仍持續以每年15%－20%的幅度增長，遠高於世界2%的增長速度。有專家預測，中國咖啡成熟消費市場潛在空間爲3-4萬億元；預計到2020年，中國咖啡消費將超過20萬噸，消費額3000億元以上，中國有望成爲全球最大的咖啡消費市場之一。</div>
